Building the Vasto Place Site

In 1985 the Stirling City Council offered The Northern District Model Engineering Club leases on several sites in the area, and Vasto Place was chosen as the site for the Club. Rumour has it that Vasto Place was originally a rubbish site, and one elderly lady visitor to the Club also mentioned that her husband used to catch wild ponies in the area in the past.

Looking at the beautiful grounds and facilities the Club has today, the photos show the hard work the volunteer members put in to create such a wonderful venue from what was bush land.

Jim Clarke's photos capture member volunteers creating the Vasto Place site.
